When Rice came to Brampton in the 1950's to develop
and build residential housing, part of its obligation was to bring industrial development
to the Town. We consequently developed certain industrial lands, selling some land and
buildings to end users and retaining other parcels for our own leasehold portfolio.
Land development, including urban planning and
construction, remains a significant part of the activities of Rice Development. It is from
this activity that we are able to select properties and buildings which will be added to
the leasehold portfolio of the company.
Today we own and/or manage all or part of
approximately 450,000 square feet of commercial and industrial buildings located largely
in Brampton. Rice Development provides leasehold management expertise to other owners and
offers property management services on a fee basis.
